13.1 Tracer particle output during an Eulerian analysis

Product: Abaqus/Explicit

Benefits: You can now use tracer particles to track motion and pressure at specific material points during an Eulerian analysis. In previous releases this feature was available only with adaptive meshing.

Description: You define the initial location of each tracer particle to be coincident with a node in the Eulerian mesh, called the “parent node.” These parent nodes are grouped into a tracer set, and you can request node and element output for a particular tracer set. With tracer particles you can track the Lagrangian motion of specific material points; you can also track the pressure history of these material points during an Eulerian analysis. Tracer particle output is not supported when using Eulerian mesh motion or adaptive mesh refinement.
