5.7 Importing model data and results multiple times for Abaqus/Explicit analyses

Product: Abaqus/Explicit

Benefits: The ability to adjust or expand the model configuration during import provides great flexibility in modeling complex workflows.

Description: In an Abaqus/Explicit import analysis, you can now import part instances more than once from models that are defined as assembles of part instances. Similarly, for models that are not defined as assemblies of part instances, you can import element sets more than once. You can also reposition the part instances or elements in the element sets in the import analysis. The new position is determined by a translation and/or rotation of the original position relative to the origin of the global coordinate system.

The new functionality allows you to import a portion of the model or the whole model, position it at a desired location and orientation, and continue the simulation. For a model that consists of repeated components, such as the tires on a car, you can analyze a single component accurately and assemble that component multiple times to obtain a complete model with data and results.
